"chautari" is a Nepali word meaning a place to sit at a foot of a tree. Chautaris are found on the famous trails of Nepal and the crossroads in villages and in towns. They are resting places, poviding shelter and shade. It also serves as a meeting place where people gather to discuss issues that concern them.
